What is OSINT?

Open Source Intelligence is anything that you can find about a person or company by just looking at what they share publicly. That can include social media accounts, websites they are on, and documents they have published and more.

Google Fu

Google Fu is a way to make your Google searches more powerful. By utilizing different techniques and keywords, you can effectively find results. Here are some of your options:

• To search for information on a particular website, you can use “site:” and then the website address afterwards in your search bar.

• To search for a file, you can use “filetype:” followed by the file extension in your search bar.

• To search for a page that has a particular title you can use “intitle:” followed by the page title that you are looking for. If you were trying to find a contact page you could do something like this.

• To search for something in the url, you can use “inurl:” followed by a keyword in your search bar. This is useful for finding a particular page at someone’s site.

• To search for something that doesn’t have a particular word or attribute in your results, use “-” followed by the attribute or word that you want to filter out.

• To search for something that does have a particular word or attribute in your results, put the attribute or word that you want inside quotes.
