A nerd with a passionate love for building and breaking.

Yesenia’s passion has led her to a wonderful career in cyber security and software development. She has 10 years in the tech industry. The last year she has spent building an engineering team of 6 plus leadership responsible for protecting the Red Hat’s Supply Chain and engaging with engineering to influence security best practices and industry standards.

Six of these years have been at HCM Platform Fortune 100 Company, where her experience was focused in security operations, incident response, and product development thus aligning the in-house built security controls, tools, and products to a global security operation’s strategies and priorities. She was a contributor to the Cybrary.it community as an instructor for Everyday Digital Forensic.

Her passion led her to Martial Arts where she studies, trains, and coaches Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Mattix Academy. She also loves legos!

Renee Wynn

Renee Wynn

Former Chief Information Officer

Renee Wynn is an independent board member with over 30 years of leadership experience in environmental policy, global information technology and cybersecurity operations, supply chain, risk management, and ESG. Renee has extensive knowledge about guiding government agencies through complex digital transformations. She led programs at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and served as the CIO at an iconic agency, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). She is currently a member of the Advisory Boards for Palo Alto Networks and Interos Solutions where she provides input on how best to use their product in the federal government. She is actively seeking to build a corporate board portfolio that will benefit from her government, cyber, digital transformation, sustainability, and climate change experience.

In 2020, Renee left the federal government after 30 years of service. She joined NASA in 2015 and served as the CIO. Renee managed a $2 billion IT portfolio serving more than 65,000 employees and contractors and established NASA’s first-ever IT strategic plan that aligned with its space and aeronautic program goals. She led NASA’s transformation to a more centralized services model that improved overall service quality; partnered with procurement to modify processes to include cyber and digital supply chain risk reviews and save $50 million per year in software costs; and established a cybersecurity program which included complex space systems that reduced risks across 150 metrics. Renee reinvigorated an international Space Agency CIO Council to share best practices and strengthen cybersecurity between NASA, the European Space Agency, and the space agencies for Japan, Germany, France, and Canada.

Wynn currently serves on corporate advisory boards for Interos Solutions, Inc. and Palo Alto Networks, Inc. She is a past board president for the American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), a non-profit public-private partnership dedicated to improving government. A strong advocate for social responsibility, Wynn serves on the Board of The Women’s Center, a Virginia and Washington, DC-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving the community’s mental health and well-being through counseling, education, support, and advocacy.
