GenCyber Girls in CybHER® Security High School Camp 2021
GenCyber Girls in CybHER Security will offer camp curriculum virtually. Small groups of students will work in groups to complete the curriculum at the same pace with the guidance of a DSU CybHER student. Each participant will receive a Sphero and other learning tools as they complete each of the six modules.
Participants must agree to complete all six modules. Plan on 30 hours of activities and engagement, approximately 5 hours a week. Please consider this before you sign up.
Modules include cybersecurity and privacy, block programming, python programming, digital forensics, and human factors of cybersecurity. Participants will be in a team of 15 students that will be led by 2 DSU college mentors. Modules will include hands-on learning, unplugged activities, learning about cybersecurity career paths from professionals, and networking with a team of other students.
This free camp is sponsored by the NSA and focuses on educating, motivating, and encouraging young women to explore cybersecurity.
This camp is for high schoolers and space is limited. A selection committee will review the applications and make their selection in January 2021. You will be notified if you have been selected at that time. We are going to work hard to raise more funds to allow for more students in, and it is our hope that we can accommodate all applications. At this time, we only have enough funding for 40 students.
