Cyber Threat Intel Lead and Founder of Outpost Gray

As a tenured Special Operations Warrant Officer, tech blogger, podcaster, small business owner, and Senior Analyst in Global Intelligence, Jaclyn “Jax” Scott has sought to expand her skills within cybersecurity. Jax has held positions on boards of nonprofits providing tactical advice to reduce injury to women and children affected by sex trafficking and held executive leadership roles providing cybersecurity guidance to foreign leaders. She is an expert in military cyber policy and has led global development operations in cyber countermeasures to mitigate near-peer attacks.

Jax has over 17 years of experience working in military operations where she worked on a special unit that offered gender-specific intelligence and security solutions. She is committed to her growth as a leader, she is currently co-authoring a cybersecurity book and finishing her Master’s in Cybersecurity Risk Management at Georgetown University.

Principal Insider Threat Researcher at Noblis

Julie Ard is the principal insider threat researcher at Noblis helping government clients protect themselves from insider threats and serving as the principal investigator for internal research projects. She has over 15 years of experience in insider threat and cybersecurity research, applied research, and operations at the IRS, DARPA, IARPA, NSA Research Directorate, Army Research Laboratory, DIA, DHS, Sandia National Labs, and several other DOD agencies. 

Prior to joining Noblis, Ms. Ard served as the director of insider threat operations at an insider threat detection software startup. She is active in the research community, serving on peer review panels, and is an author of several peer-reviewed publications. She is also involved in insider threat industry organizations, having served as an instructor for an insider threat program management course and as an active member of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) Insider Threat subcommittee where she is a contributing author and leader on several of INSA’s thought leadership publications. Ms. Ard’s volunteer work includes mentoring young people of all ages in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), especially girls and young women, serving as a science fair judge, and speaking at schools on careers in STEM. 

Julie Ard earned her bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Texas A&M University and her master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis. She also holds a CISSP certification.

Monica has almost 14 years of experience in information and cybersecurity. She got interested in technology at the age of 10 when she was invited to see the inside of a cockpit for the very first time. She was driven and started her career as a developer and an ethical hacker. Today, she is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at The Norwegian Directorate of Health. She has previously held a CISO role and worked as Head of Security, Risk, and Business Continuity for the finance sector. After supporting the financial industry for more than a decade with security, risk management, digitalization, vendor management, and cloud security, she wanted to contribute to and promote the health industry with her passion and expertise in this area.

“Digitalization and innovation skyrocketed in 2020. I am very interested in how security and risk management can contribute to support the business and manage the ever-evolving landscape. I am very happy to be part of the leadership team at the Norwegian Directorate of Health and contribute to one of the most important assignments towards the society”, says Monica Verma.

She is a board member of Cloud Security Alliance Norway and Women in Cybersecurity Norway. As her contribution to a safer and more secure society and business, she leads not-for-profit initiatives such as MonicaTalksCyber.com and the We Talk Cyber ​​podcast series. In 2019, she also won the “The Outstanding Security Performance Awards” for Outstanding Security Adviser in Norway, which is awarded by The Norwegian Business and Industry Security Council.
